Overview

The Department of Computer Science offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs to provide quality education in computer science. Established in 2012, the B.Sc. Computer Science program focuses on developing professional and technical skills. The postgraduate and research programs, launched in 2015 and 2017 respectively, aim to provide advanced knowledge and research opportunities.

The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program at Don Bosco College, initially established in 1998 as BICS InfoTech, provides quality computing education to rural youth. Evolving from one-year and three-year programs, it now offers a comprehensive three-year curriculum covering database management, networking, and programming languages like 'C', 'C++', and 'Java'. Partnering with CDAC-Pune and IGNOU, the institution ensures practical training and internships, achieving a 100% job placement rate within three months due to its emphasis on English communication skills. In 2012, BICS InfoTech became Don Bosco College to meet growing demand from rural areas. The college boasts a 95% pass rate and offers pathways for further studies in MCA, M.Sc. (IT), M.Sc. (Computer Science), and MBA. The BCA program equips students with sought-after skills for a successful career in information technology..
