A vibrant culture of sports, physical education, and outdoor activities is an integral part of campus life. The institution offers spacious playgrounds, including separate basketball and volleyball courts for boys and girls, as well as a football ground, encouraging students to participate actively in both indoor and outdoor sports. Beyond the campus, the scenic Yelagiri Hills provide exciting trekking opportunities that help enhance endurance, resilience, and overall well-being.

Established in 2012, the Physical Education Department is committed to fostering teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship. Through structured training programs, modern sports facilities, and competitive events, the department nurtures well-rounded individuals who thrive academically and athletically.

Sports Activities & Training

The institution actively promotes a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports to encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and competitive spirit among students. Team sports such as volleyball, football, basketball, cricket, kabaddi, and handball are regularly conducted. Racket sports including badminton, tennis, and table tennis are also encouraged. Students are provided opportunities to participate in chess and athletic events such as sprinting, hurdles, long-distance running, and relay competitions.

Fitness Centre

The on-campus Fitness Centre functions from 5:30 AM to 6:15 AM and 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM and is equipped with modern fitness equipment to support strength training, endurance development, and overall physical conditioning. The facility caters to both structured training requirements and general student wellness.

Athletic Events and Disciplines

The Physical Education Department offers structured training across a comprehensive range of track and field disciplines, including sprints, middle- and long-distance races, hurdles, relays, and multi-event competitions. Field events encompassing jumps, throws, and combined athletic disciplines are actively promoted, enabling students to participate and excel in intercollegiate, state, and national-level competitions.

Trekking and Adventure Activities

Taking advantage of its unique geographical location, the campus offers students opportunities to engage in trekking and adventure activities in the Yelagiri Hills. These activities play a significant role in building physical stamina, mental resilience, and a spirit of exploration.
