Report on AIDS/HIV Awareness Rally Event  Organized by the

Red Ribbon Club

1. Introduction:

HIV/AIDS continues to be a significant global health concern, affecting millions of people worldwide. Despite advances in treatment and prevention, there remains a considerable lack of awareness and understanding surrounding the disease, particularly in our community.
 To address this issue, the Red Ribbon Club of Don Bosco College (Co-Ed), Yelagiri Hills, organized an Awareness Rally on HIV/AIDS on 15th October 2025 from 3:00 pm to 3:50 pm at Athanavoor. The event aimed to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, its causes, effects, and preventive measures among the local people and students.

2. Event Purpose:

The purpose of organizing this rally was to:

  • Educate the public and students about HIV/AIDS and its prevention.
     
  • Reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.
     
  • Promote awareness about testing, treatment, and safe practices.
     
  • Encourage the youth to take part in social health campaigns.
     
  • Build a responsible and informed community through awareness activities.

4. Description of the Event:

The rally began at 3:00 pm, starting from the college campus and proceeding through the main streets of Athanavoor village. Students held placards, banners, and posters with awareness slogans written in Tamil and English, spreading messages on prevention, compassion, and support for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Participants actively shouted slogans to draw public attention and interacted with the community members along the route. The rally was well-received by the local residents, who appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty for their initiative.

The event successfully concluded at 3:50 pm with words of encouragement and appreciation from the organizing staff and volunteers.

5. Outcome of the Event

  • Increased awareness about HIV/AIDS among students and the local community.
     
  • Positive response and engagement from the public.
     
  • Strengthened the social responsibility of students.
     
  • Promoted open discussion to break myths and stigma related to HIV/AIDS.

6. Feedback and Observations:

Participants expressed that the rally was educational, impactful, and motivating. The local community’s positive response reflected their growing interest in health awareness activities.

6. Conclusion

The HIV/AIDS Awareness Rally was a meaningful and successful initiative. It created a strong impact on both participants and the local community by spreading knowledge and compassion. The program encouraged unity, responsibility, and awareness among the youth. Through such activities, Don Bosco College continues to promote social welfare and health education in the community.
